If you own a Smartphone the chances are pretty good that once in awhile you accidently bump it the wrong way and it goes to voice commands. All of a sudden your phone starts telling you what to do! “I can’t understand you. Say something like Mom.” It’s bad enough when it happens to you at home but what if you were sitting in a court room and your phone started to give voice commands? Let’s go one step further and what if there was a sign posted with a warning that stated “disruptions caused by electronic devices will result in the confiscation of the items, a contempt of court finding and a $25 fine.”

where that warning sign is posted and HE is a stickler when it comes to these
kind of disruptions! The Associated Press reports that Voet has enforced the
rule against police officers, attorneys, witnesses, spectators and even friends
over the years! Well as they sometimes
say “what comes around goes around”. Seems Voet held himself in contempt on
Friday and paid a $25 fine after his new Smartphone made its presence known
during a jury trial in his courtroom.

“Judges are humans,” Voet said. ‘They’re not above the rules. I broke the rule
and I have to live by it.’
Voet longtime BlackBerry user
Voet was a
longtime BlackBerry user and had recently switched to a Windows-based phone-
hence his confusion. “That’s an excuse, but I don’t take those excuses from
anyone else.” He said. So let that be a lesson to us all, don’t dish out more
than you can take because one day you may just have to take it!
