Milwaukee bankruptcy and foreclosure attorney Rollie R. Hanson will be speaking at an upcoming seminar on new guidelines and regulations in the loan modification and mortgage servicer industry. Attorney Hanson’s discussion, entitled “New Mortgage Servicing Rules: Some Highlights and Comments,” will be presented at the Enforcing Consumers’ Rights seminar in order to advise fledgling attorneys and potential clients on the updated regulations of mortgage servicer claims and consumer rights.

Attorney Hanson will be presenting on the following topics:

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau issued new mortgage servicing rules under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act Home Act (RESPA) and the Truth in Lending Act (TILA);

Fore-Placed Insurance changes that require servicers to give homeowners specific notice (45 days) to respond and give proof of insurance;

Regarding Loss Mitigation, if a homeowner falls behind and servicer is required to give the homeowner viable options and resources to keep the home; and

Continuity of Contact Requirements ensure that servicers adequately contact borrowers regarding account latency or changes and be conveniently available to borrowers should the borrowers need to contact the servicers.

The Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) seminar on Enforcing Consumers’ Rights will be held at the American Family Training Center at 6000 American Family Parkway, Madison, WI from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on October 30th, 2014.
