Ms Amy R. Howard, Attorney

Amy Howard was born in Enfield, Connecticut, and relocated from the Northeast to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1995. It was the growing economy and warm weather that drew Amy to the South after attending The Pennsylvania State University as an undergrad and receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in Spanish in 1992, and after receiving her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in 1995. She was admitted to the Bar in North Carolina in 1995 as well as the United States District Court, Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina. Amy is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the Family Law Section of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association.

Over the years Amy has had the opportunity to speak at a variety of seminars before my family law colleagues, as well as had the opportunity to lecture to accountants and certified financial planners focusing on the connection between divorce, financial planning and taxation. The issues facing families going through separation and divorce is not only emotionally draining but these dilemmas are interconnected with many other areas of the law. It is important to have compassion as well as an enhanced understanding of financial matters to be able to assist our clients in securing the most favorable outcome possible. These are attributes that Amy and the fellow firm members and office personnel possess.
