• Trials -Client acquitted of “honest services” mail fraud and money laundering conspiracy relating to alleged kickbacks for awarding contracts. -Client acquitted of narcotics trafficking and possession of two firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crime even though police found one pound of methamphetamine and guns hidden in client's vehicle. -Client acquitted of narcotics trafficking despite transporting ten pounds of methamphetamine and being present during delivery to confidential informant. -Client acquitted of narcotics trafficking based on entrapment defense after delivering five pounds of methamphetamine to undercover DEA agent. -Client acquitted of firearms trafficking based on entrapment defense after selling silencer and short-barreled rifle to undercover police officer. Client acquitted of using firearm during drug trafficking crime where two cooperating witnesses testified that client used firearm in drug-related murder. Other -Narcotics trafficking and firearm convictions reversed on appeal and twenty-five year sentence vacated due to government misconduct at trial; client acquitted at retrial. -No criminal charges filed against client who was targeted in federal grand jury investigation for alleged corruption relating to misuse of public funds. -Negotiated agreement resulting in two-year sentence for client charged with terrorism and facing life plus mandatory thirty-five years imprisonment after detonating bomb near office of local congresswoman. -Theft and illegal possession of firearms convictions reversed on appeal and fifteen year sentence vacated due to evidentiary error; negotiated agreement for five-year sentence on remand. -Obtained habeas corpus relief and new trial for state prisoner serving life sentence for attempted murder due to former trial counsel's ineffective assistance during first trial. -Foreign extradition warrant dismissed against client accused of murder, kidnapping and robbery, after litigating defense under United Nations Convention Against Torture; case established legal principle permitting judicial review of Secretary of State's decisions regarding foreign extradition.
