Daniel Patrick Blouin joined Weitz & Luxenberg in 2008 as an associate attorney in our Asbestos Litigation group. Since then, in his oft-repeated role as lead trial-attorney and co-counsel, he has gone to court against many national corporations involved in the manufacture and sale of dangerous products and equipment. Specifically, Mr. Blouin prosecutes cases for clients and their families suffering from dangerous cancers - lung cancer and mesothelioma foremost among them. Before coming to Weitz & Luxenberg, Mr. Blouin served as an assistant district attorney for King's County (Brooklyn), N.Y. There, as a felony trial-attorney and a criminal-court supervisor (in both instances assigned to the Red Zone Trial Bureau), he obtained the convictions of hundreds of thieves, drug dealers, and violent criminals - often as a result of verdict at trial. Mr. Blouin began the practice of law in 2005 upon his admission to the New York state bar. The previous year, he received a juris doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School. He completed undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, which, in 1999, conferred upon him a bachelor of arts degree. A New Hampshire native now living in Connecticut, Mr. Blouin hails from a family that for three generations has worked in the construction trades. He currently belongs to two vital legal organizations: the National Bar Assn., and the New York Bar Assn.
