• October 2014 -- Mr. Weinrieb and Mr. Schwartz represented a Los Angeles County firefighter and his mother in highly publicized trial -- the case was analyzed on the nightly news each day of trial -- where they were alleged to have beaten a woman feeding stray cats in their West Adams neighborhood. Based on a surveillance video of the incident it was widely anticipated in legal circles that both Defendants would be convicted. This did not happen. After a roughly 3 week jury trial the jury announced that it could not reach a verdict on any charge and the judge declared a mistrial. The case is set for retrial in 2015. For more information on this case Google People v. Ian Eulian and Lonietta Fontaine. September 2013- CASE DISMISSED. Mr. Weinrieb's client was falsely accused of Domestic Violence. After months of negotiation the prosecutor refused to dismiss the case. Mr. Weinrieb announced "ready for trial" and forced the prosecutor to dismiss all charges because the prosecutor was not properly prepared to begin jury trial. Los Angeles Criminal Courts Building. September 2013-CASE DISMISSED. Mr. Weinrieb's client was falsely accused of Criminal Threats and Battery. After months of negotiation the prosecutor refused to dismiss the case. Mr. Weinrieb announced "ready for trial" and forced the prosecutor to dismiss all charges because the prosecutor was not properly prepared to begin jury trial. (Van Nuys Courthouse). August 2013 -- Probation granted for Mr. Weinrieb’s client charged with transporting 2 Kilograms of cocaine from Los Angeles to Oahu, Hawaii through the US Postal Service. Client was facing a sentence of up to 5 years in county jail due to the quantity of cocaine at issue. LAX Courthouse July 2013 -- Attorney Garret Weinrieb filed a motion to terminate his client’s felony probation for possession of brass knuckles. Motion to terminate probation was granted and the client’s case was expunged. Van Nuys Courthouse. 2013. MURDER CHARGES dismissed against Mr. Weinrieb's client. Criminal Courts Building (CCB). 2013 -- Mr. Weinrieb's client found NOT GUILTY by a jury of felony vandalism and Grand Theft. San Fernando Courthouse. 2012 -- Mr. Weinrieb's client found NOT GUILTY by a jury of domestic violence. LAX, Airport Courthouse. 2011 -- Mr. Weinrieb's client found NOT GUILTY by a jury of attempted murder. Van Nuys courthouse.
