Van Bavel attended University of Maryland School of Law and graduated with honors in 1971. He served in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office from 1972-1975 as an Assistant State’s Attorney.  Mark also served in the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office from 1975-1979 as an Assistant State’s Attorney responsible for the District Court and Investigation Divisions of the Office of the State’s Attorney under Sandra A. O’Connor.

Mark has handled multiple major state and federal cases over the years with significant results as well as having practiced in the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. Since his career started, Mark Van Bavel, P.A. has won thousands of cases for people both regionally and nationally.

Van Bavel was a founding partner with a prominent Baltimore firm for over 20 years before deciding to go into practice for himself. For the past 12 years he has had his own firm that was originally located in Baltimore City and recently moved to Baltimore County where he is joined by Kim Van Bavel.
