Marshall graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Camden in 2008.  During law school, he was a member of the Rutgers Law Journal (Law Review). Additionally, Marshall interned for the Honorable Theodore McKee on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.  Upon graduating, he was presented with the 1st Congressional District of New Jersey Award for Scholarship in the Law.

After law school, Marshall clerked for the Honorable Michael Brooke Fisher in the Law Division-Civil Part of the New Jersey Superior Court in Cumberland County, New Jersey.
