Grondin, 806 Grandview, Kingman, AZ 86401, a suspended member of the State Bar, was suspended from the practice of law for three years, and will be placed on probation for two years upon reinstatement. Mr. Grondin was also ordered to pay ,721.90 restitution to the Yavapai Public Defenders Office and the Mohave County Superior Court, and the costs and expenses of the proceedings in the amount of 6.24, together with interest at the legal rate.Mr. Grondins misconduct included failing to abide by his clients decisions concerning the objectives of representation or to consult with his client as to the means by which they are to be pursued; failing to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing a client; failing to keep his client reasonably informed about the status of a matter or promptly comply with reasonable requests for information; failing, upon termination of representation, to take steps reasonably practicable to protect his clients interests; failing to make reasonable efforts to expedite litigation consistent with his clients interests; committing a criminal act that reflects adversely on his honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer; engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice; and being convicted of a misdemeanor involving a serious crime. Two aggravating factors were found: multiple offenses and illegal conduct including that involving the use of controlled substances. Six mitigating factors were found: absence of a prior disciplinary record; absence of a dishonest or selfish motive; personal or emotional problems" full and free disclosure to the disciplinary board or cooperative attitude toward the proceedings; inexperience in the practice of law; and remorse.
