I saved my client's tax refund from the chapter 7 trustee. My client expected to receive over $5,000 from the IRS. He needed to file his case right away. We decided to assign to me part of the refund to cover attorney fees. We used exemptions to protect the balance of the refund. As a result, my client got to keep the entire refund.

I charge a reasonable fee for my work. I like to stay in contact with clients with updates on their case. I respond quickly whenever my clients contact me.

Clients need a lawyer who is experienced in handling bankruptcy cases. Someone who handles client's case directly and does not delegate it to others. A lawyer who can explain the law clearly and simply.

Every bankruptcy court has its own set of rules. Knowledge of the rules can make a big difference for clients. Every bankruptcy court has a panel of trustees. An attorney who knows how to work with the trustee assigned to a case can make a big difference too.

I can answer general questions about bankruptcy law with an initial phone call. But bankruptcy law is complex and requires an office interview. I need to get detailed information about my client's financial situation. Then I recommend bankruptcy or some other solution for them. Initial client interviews are free.

I will ask the client about the kinds of debts she has and how much she earns per year.

I have thirty years' experience representing individuals and small businesses in bankruptcy court. I am licensed in both Ohio and Kentucky.
