I also worked as an Assistant State Attorney, handling a wide range of crimes. Because of my significant courtroom exposure, I am familiar with prosecutors and judges and the strategies that work best when dealing with them.
I undertake criminal appeals on a limited basis. In these matters, I collaborate with Louis G. Carres, a celebrated Criminal Appellate Attorney with over 40 years of experience and who has personally handled hundreds of criminal appeals throughout Florida. - A man charged with murder was convicted by a jury only of manslaughter for shooting his wife after she called 911 to report he tried to strangle her. On appeal, I obtained a reversal because the trial judge erred in excluding evidence that would corroborate his assertion that the wife faked the strangulation. - A car-jacker who was facing life in prison and had eight eyewitnesses testify against him was sentenced to only five years in prison. - An accused convenience store robber charged with murder of the clerk was acquitted after I presented a plausible explanation about why he lied to police about not having been in the store when his fingerprints were identified on the front counter. - I successfully helped a pharmacist whose business was raided and drugs seized for mislabeling from being charged by Florida Attorney General’s Office. - In DUI manslaughter trial, I engaged an expert in accident reconstruction to prove that my client didn’t operate the vehicle the way the State told the jury. That case resulted in a finding of Not Guilty.
