Born May 29, 1943 to Mel and Atlje Manske as youngest of four children. Grew up in El Campo, Texas and was involved member of both Trinity and Christ Lutheran Churches (and still a member of Christ Lutheran Church). Married high school sweetheart, Peggy Treadaway and have two sons. Charles, a graduate of South Texas College of Law and William, a pilot with Southwest Airlines.

Past President of the El Campo Chamber of Commerce; Past President of Board of Trustees of the El Campo Independent School Board; Past President of Congregation of Both Trinity and Christ Lutheran Churches, Den Mother with Cub Scouts, Little League Coach; Past President of Wharton County Bar Association, Past President of Wharton County Criminal Defense Bar; Former member of El Campo Rotary Club; Member of El Campo Museum Society and Wharton County Historical Museum; Past President of El Campo Athletic Booster Club; Member of Board of El Campo Medical Foundation; Former Legal Advisor and Organizer of El Campo Medical Authority; Chairman of Building Committee of Christ Lutheran Church; Life member and Boys State Chairman of American Legion Post 251 and Life Member of VFW Post 2786.
