Roy Warren was Board Certified in Worker’s Compensation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for 10 years, from 2005 until 2015. He is one of the most experienced workers compensation lawyers in Texas. He has represented injured workers, insurance carriers and medical care providers. He served as an Appeals Judge reviewing CCH decisions from every hearing officer in the State for legal or factual errors. For the past 26 years he has worked hard for the people of Texas. He is an honest, diligent and forthright lawyer that understands the problems you are, or will, be facing. His message to you is below. It is unfortunate that most of the time when people contact a lawyer its because of a horrible crisis in their life. I understand you may have many different unsettling feelings/emotions concerning your situation. The last thing you need is a lawyer that gives you more stress and anxiety. I will use my more than 25 years of legal experience to advise and guide you through the legal process. As those I have assisted in the past will attest, when representing people I do so with passion, intensity and integrity. Let me walk with you and assist you through this difficult time of your life; you will not be disappointed. For many cases I have rendered assistance even when others could not. If you cannot afford a lawyer I am willing to work with you on a contingency fee (PI cases) or allow you to make payments (criminal cases). Keep in mind that I am seldom the first lawyer people contact (because my name, “Warren” is near the end of the alphabet); however, I am still in business. Other lawyers may have rejected your case. Do not get discouraged, I may be able to help you just as I have in so many other cases. It does not cost you anything to speak with me to find out. As I mentioned, my name is near the end of the alphabet so I have been required to be creative, "thinking outside the box" to assist people, on cases rejected by other lawyers. Try me and hopefully I can assist you. You may have been advised you do not need a lawyer but consider the fact others know the law and have a head start on you. For instance in workers compensation, if the carrier disputes a portion of your case and a hearing is scheduled you may regret not having a lawyer by your side. At the hearing, called a CCH, looking around the room you will discover you are on your own. That is because generally every person at the hearing (hearing officer, adjuster, carrier lawyer) makes a living on WC, you do not. Most injured workers feel as though everyone is speaking a foreign language in the hearing. You may have a DWC employee (known as an Ombudsman) assisting you, but they owe you no duty and your conversation with them is not protected by the attorney/client privilege. In addition, on the occasions when injured workers complain they did not get adequate assistance from the ombudsman, the DWC has ruled an ombudsman is not liable because they do not represent you. They only assist you so they are immune! Many ombudsmen are diligent and they may do a good job but even the DWC statistics prove the injured workers are more likely to prevail with a lawyer representing them. Also, carriers are in the business of making money, not paying claims. They have no heart; they are corporations that you cannot reason with. When you are injured, you must report the injury within 30 days. It is best to document your notice in case it becomes an issue. You need to make sure you report the entire injury and you must be very careful in that regard to. Consider a situation where you have an occupational or repetitive trauma type of injury that has been getting worse in increments over a few years. When does your 30 days to report your injury begin to run? Is it when you first had pain (no), when symptoms are so bad you miss work (most likely no), or maybe it’s the last day you work? The appeals panel has most often ruled when you seek medical help you either know or should have known so that is your injury date for reporting purposes. The appeals panel has also ruled the date you first had symptoms is not the injury date. I know when you are injured and cannot work, this is a troubling time for you and your family so I will do my best to walk with you during this difficult and trying time and warn you about any traps/pitfalls before you become a victim. I handle cases for injured Texans from around the State, including Corpus Christi, Houston, Austin, San Antonio and other venues. Please at least speak with a lawyer. An injury can ruin your life and you may not know it until too late and then there is nothing anyone can do to assist you. I also defend Texans charged with a criminal offense. Although I generally handle serious felonies, I also help with municipal court cases (such as traffic tickets for speeding, parking, drug para, driver's license suspension hearings) and misdemeanors (such as DWI, possession, theft and assault). In the past couple of years I defended many various criminal charges, including 1st degree felony charges on 5 different cases in 4 different counties. Of all the defendants I assisted, only one person is currently incarcerated. Also in 2016 and 2017 I was voted a Top 10 Criminal Defense Lawyers in Texas by AIDUIA and rated 10 out of 10 by AVVO.com I cannot promise end results, but I can promise I will give you my absolute best effort. Las Vegas' Adverse Possession Law
Adverse possession is the legal concept that if the owner of the land isn’t using it, and someone else is giving the land a useful purpose for long enough, the law favors the useful purpose over the land being left unused.
