Professional Accomplishments

Law Practice - Mr. Mow is an associate in the law firm of Babcock Scott & Babcock, where he represents architects, engineers, contractors, and other members of the construction industry. He is on the State of Utah Court Annexed Alternative Dispute Resolution Program Roster of Mediators & Arbitrators . Mr. Mow has mediated over 100 matters and is an arbitrator.

Design & Construction Background - Mr. Mow has been a licensed architect since 2001, and has design and construction administration experience with various project types throughout the country.

Education

Mr. Mow received a Bachelor of Architecture degree, graduating magna cum laude, from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah. While in law school, Mr. Mow was the Executive Editor of the Utah Law Review and a national finalist in the negotiation competition of the American Bar Association Law Student Division.

Professional Association Involvement

Mr. Mow is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Utah and the United States District Court for the District of Utah. He is the Secretary of the Dispute Resolution section of the Utah State Bar as well as a member of the Construction Law section. Mr. Mow is also a Director of the Utah Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Publications & Lectures

Mr. Mow is an adjunct professor at the S.J. Quinney College of Law.  Mr. Mow is the author of Building with Style: Testing the Boundaries of the Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act, which was published in the 2004 Utah Law Review. He has also written articles on the design and construction industries for the national magazine of The Construction Specifications Institute, the Utah Engineers Council Journal, and the newsletter of AIA Utah. Mr. Mow has been a presenter at the national conventions of the American Institute of Architects, the Associated General Constractors of American, and the Construction Specifications Institute.
