Member Questionnaire

Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
In representing a client charged with selling drugs, and facing significant jail time, I researched various case law and successfully argued that the search and seizure of the narcotics was unconstitutional, and thereby inadmissible. My client received a one year period of probation and a small fine.

How did you build a successful practice?
I have built my practice through 33 years of dedicated service and attention to each and every client, no matter what their legal issue may be - major or minor.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
A client should feel comfortable with their lawyer. The client should understand that his input is received and he/she will not only be involved in the proceedings, but will be kept informed of all meaningful steps along the way.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is crucial. Each county, and even each municipality have differences in practice and procedures, so familiarity is important. Likewise, being familiar with and knowing the judge you are appearing in front of is always a plus.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I am happy to provide a 5-10 minute free consultation in order for the potential client to quickly become aware of the options that may be available on the best way to proceed in dealing with their problem.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need a brief and accurate summary of the facts. If they are not accurate, it will generate a response/proposed strategy from me that will likely not be the right strategy. Honesty on the part of the client is critical.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Dedicated and professional service, with the client knowing that I personally care for their well-being. I want to achieve the best result for them and they know it. I also, from the start, do not give them false hope.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding aspect is when I know I have done my best, a good result was achieved, and that result made a positive impact on my client's life.

What are your other interests in addition to law?
I am happily married with two great children and a wonderful son-in-law. I am fortunate to have a good number of close friends where golf is the main theme. I also love to run, and compete in 5ks, 10ks, 10 milers, and half marathons.

Are you involved in your community?
When my children were growing up I always coached them in sports. I also was involved as a township commissioner in two townships. Presently, I am solicitor for my high school, the local Ambulance Association, and our local fire company.
