From a young age, Faith has been involved in community service. From volunteering with programs to serve the homeless, to working with young children at her church, Faith has always enjoyed helping others. The same passion and drive that sent her to Mexico to build houses for homeless families led her to law school. She has continued to volunteer for community groups and has been involved in many activities, including organizing and speaking at events raising awareness about human trafficking in Oregon. Faith continues to seek opportunities to serve in the community and she enjoys volunteering. For example, she serves on the Board of Mercy’s Gate, a local non-profit that seeks to decrease the threat of homelessness of employed individuals whose wages do not match the costs of basic living. The focus is on long-term stability, increasing skills for navigating trials and strengthening emotional fortitude to handle life’s ongoing challenges. She also serves as the Assistant Director of the Immigration Clinic at her church, New Life Church of the Nazarene, providing low-cost services to low-income families.

Faith graduated from Willamette University College of Law magna cum laude. During law school, Faith served as Editor-in-Chief of Willamette Law Online and as an Executive Editor of the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution. She was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society, volunteered for the Willamette University Public Interest Law Project, and served in various positions in other extra-curricular groups. Faith’s interest in serving people and justice led her to practice with Andersen Morse & Linthorst.

During law school, Faith worked one-on-one with struggling students to help teach them legal writing and research methods. She worked on plaintiff-side issues in worker’s compensation and social security disability by helping research, draft, and edit briefs for filing in an administrative forum, the U.S. Federal District Court, and in the Oregon Court of Appeals. She worked as a legal intern in the International Human Rights Clinic on a report on Oregon’s infrastructure response to human trafficking published in June 2010. She worked with a team for End Child Prostitution and Trafficking (ECPAT) in New York to analyze the laws regarding child prostitution in all 50 states. She also helped prepare draft rules and commentary for the Committee to Review the Oregon Judicial Code.

In addition to her law degree, Faith earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).

Las Vegas' Adverse Possession Law
Adverse possession is the legal concept that if the owner of the land isn’t using it, and someone else is giving the land a useful purpose for long enough, the law favors the useful purpose over the land being left unused.
