I’ll be discontinuing my coverage when enrollment opens. I’ve had a lot of legal questions and a potential case that I wanted to see about filing and I’ve requested help multiple times just for the assigned lawyers to flat out tell me to find someone else or just ignore me all together. Just tell me I don’t have a case instead of making me have to completely fill out the request form multiple times. Complete waste of money and none of my questions were ever answered. Not entirely MetLife’s fault, however after seeing the same request go through the system multiple times they ought to know that something’s wrong. I mostly blame lazy greedy lawyers though. Can’t even get one of your legal aides to just send me an email answering my question? Don’t use this coverage if your employer offers it. Find another option if possible

Similar to other reviews, the people who work for MetLife are really kind and helpful, however, the group plan attorneys have been resistant to taking on my case due to it being too complicated. They make excuses that they’re not available, or will advise via phone for 10min. Rush me off the phone, some are rude, unprofessional and the one attorney who took my case, wouldn’t answer my phone calls, he did a horrible job representing me, would respond to my emails two weeks and ignore any of my updates. This would never occur if a client is paying an attourney directly. Even after speaking to managers and reporting to senior levels, there’s no real help. Would NOT recommend this service, the amount of stress involved is not worth it, no matter how great your work group plan might be.

Called in because im paying for a plan, they told me they would email me a list of local lawyers to call, never got a list.

I am so thankful I signed up for the legal plan through my employer. They cover almost anything I can imagine and have a huge selection of attorneys to choose from; you’re not force fed an attorney they provide. When I have called them directly, they have superb customer service, who are quick, thorough and efficient. Used them last year for a something that only cost a few dollars out of pocket. This year I just got my will, power of attorney and a living will and it cost me nothing out of pocket for all three. Highly recommend!

I’ve read so many poor reviews on the plan. I have only been impressed with the service and the attorney I found so far. I’ve had the plan for more than three years now and am extremely happy that it was offered through my employer. Since I had the service, I have used it to close on first and second property as buyer and sellers and now for estate planning and have saved a few thousand dollars already. Moreover, I can sign up for service for my mother and have piece of mind that she also has legal service when needed.
