Called up looking for a family lawyer who could help my spouse and I navigate laws regarding gamete donation and our legal rights as gay parents in regards to protecting our family from a custody lawsuit from a donor. The woman answering the phone said "we don't help people find sperm donors" and wouldn't allow me to fill out an intake form. She told me that she's been doing this for 35 years and had never heard of my issue so wouldn't help me. We meet the financial requirements and live in a county served, and I was told that this agency would help. Sorry I asked.

They told me an attorney would help me ended up playing phone tag for months an then someone finally contacts me literally days before the court date to tell me they only do legal advice over the phone but can’t appear in court rooms so total waste of time an wish someone told me from day one instead of the receptionist saying oh yes we can definitely help you an then months later oh no we can’t sorry we just give advice so now I have to go into a court room alone have no clue what I’m doing there definitely should be better places to turn to for poor people that are pro bono that are for single mothers who need help getting the other parent to pay support an alimony this place is a joke I don’t even recommend calling for legal advice all she said was to write everything down so I don’t forget ok big help thanks I didn’t even go to college to be an attorney an I can tell ppl that very bad service I wouldn’t even give this place a 1 star! An the person who claimed to be an attorney who finally called me back her name was Heidi an she was definitely not helpful at all.
