James W. Anderson Jr., Attorney

JAMES W. ANDERSON is also a graduate of the Florida State University, receiving his B.A. in 1971 in history, and his J.D. in 1974. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Jim worked for the Florida Department of Transportation from 1976 through 1988. As an attorney in the Litigation Section, Jim tried personal injury cases representing the defendant, and admiralty cases as plaintiff's counsel. Administrative cases included bid protests and environmental permitting. During his last five years with FDOT, he served as Chief Litigation Attorney and was responsible for all major construction litigation involving the agency. Since becoming a partner with SAVLOV & ANDERSON, Jim has limited his practice to eminent domain and construction litigation. He is a past chairman of the Eminent Domain Committee of The Florida Bar, and has lectured for the Bar and the Association of Eminent Domain Professionals on construction, eminent domain law, and the preparation and use of expert witnesses in eminent domain cases. Jim's clients include the Nath Miami Franchise Group, a Burger King franchise; Rally's and Checker's Hamburgers; and Papa Johns Pizzas; and have included the Hardaway Company; and the former Barnett/NationsBank of North Florida.
