Jody graduated as a Cum Laude honor graduate from the University of Georgia in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Anthropology. While at UGA, Jody was a member of the UGA Rugby Football Club, the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society, and the Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honor Society. In 2011, Jody graduated as a Cum Laude honor graduate from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law, where he was awarded the Custer-Tuggle Award of Excellence in Family Law from the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. While at Mercer Law School, Jody served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Mercer Law Review, Vice-President of the Legal Aid and Volunteer Association, and a staff writer for the Mercer Law Free Press. Jody was born in Tifton, Georgia, but spent his childhood in LaGrange, Georgia, where he graduated from Troup County Comprehensive High School in 2004.
