There is probably no other area of law that provides as much opportunity for helping others as family law. We often see a family divided by serious conflict, and then use that situation to reduce conflict and bring reconciliation. We have had the opportunity over the past couple of years to help several families heal their marriages. Forgiveness, grace and fresh starts bring the most satisfaction to our work.
How did you build a successful practice?We have built a successful practice through our efforts to help others resolve conflict at the least possible cost.

October 2012, a $50,000 settlement for a Gaston County woman who suffered back injuries; April 2012, a $32,500 settlement for a Gaston County woman who suffered soft tissue injuries; June 2010, a $50,000 settlement for a Gaston County woman who was the driver of a vehicle struck from the rear who sustained neck injuries; June 2009, a $11,000 settlement for a Gaston County woman who was the driver of a vehicle involved in a front-end collision who suffered neck, low back pain, and headaches; June 2008, a $50,000 settlement for a Gaston County woman who suffered knee and low back pain after she was the driver of a vehicle struck in an intersection collision; November 2008, a $9,750 settlement for a Gaston County woman who suffered rib and low back injuries after she was in a vehicle that was struck from the rear; October 2008, a $32,995 settlement for a Gaston County woman who was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck from the rear and suffered with neck pain, low back pain, and headaches; April 2008, a $17,250 settlement for a Gaston County woman who was the driver of a vehicle that was struck from the rear and suffered a back sprain; June 2007, a $9,000 settlement for a Gaston County man who was the driver of a vehicle hit in an intersection collision and suffered a back sprain; October 2005, a $5,500 settlement for a Mecklenburg County woman who was the driver of a vehicle involved in a front end collision and suffered a minor soft tissue injury; April 2005, a $6,500 settlement for a Gaston County woman who was the driver of a vehicle involved in a rear-end collision. Medical expenses were only $598.00; February 2004, $7,000 settlement for a Gaston County woman who was the driver of a vehicle involved in a rear-end collision. Medical expenses of $2,900 were all chiropractic; February 2003, a six figure confidential settlement for a widow and child for the wrongful death of a motorcyclist who was hit by a truck that ran a stop sign near Kings Mountain, NC; April 2002, a $6,250 jury verdict for a York, SC woman who was hit from the rear, suffered a neck and back sprain, but had no visible damage to her vehicle; January 2002, a $525,000 settlement for a Gastonia man who suffered serious injuries when his vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer when it crossed the centerline of a mountain road. Mr. Kelso used a computer animated accident reconstruction to achieve the settlement after another law firm had attempted to try the case, but the first trial had ended in a mistrial because of a hung jury on the issue of liability; July 2001, a $50,000 settlement for a Lincoln County woman who was injured in a low speed rear end collision where there was little visible damage to her vehicle; January 2000, a $300,000 settlement for an Ohio man who suffered a back injury while riding a go cart at an amusement park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; February 1999, $210,000 settlement for a Tennessee woman who had neck surgery following her vehicle being struck from the rear in a low speed collision that did little visible damage to her vehicle.
