Keith Edmiston has been practicing law since 1997. His practice of almost 30 years has focused on bankruptcy law and civil and commercial litigation. Keith's bankruptcy practice includes the representation of individuals and businesses l as debtors in cases under Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13, and the representation of creditors and trustees in cases Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases. He has represented parties in numerous adversary proceedings (lawsuits within bankruptcy cases). Keith's litigation practice has involved the representation of plaintiffs and defendants in law enforcement liability cases, contract disputes, defamation, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and real estate disputes. His practice has touched on every area of the law at some point in his career, to include general business matters, corporate, will contests, mergers & acquisitions. Keith graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law with the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence. He was on the Dean's List every semester while in law school, graduated in the top 15% of his class, and was a member of the Tennessee Law Review. Keith earned his undergraduate degree in English Literature from East Tennessee State University. Keith was appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court to be one of 12 Assistant Law Examiners in the State serving with the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners. He served from January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2013. As an Assistant Law Examiner, Keith wrote one of the essay questions for each bar exam and graded all responses thereto. He also assisted in reviewing applications for licensure. In addition to serving with the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners, Keith was an adjunct professor for two law schools in the area of bar exam success.
