Chase Keibler grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA in a blue-collar town before he and his family moved to South Carolina in 2013. Chase graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (“IUP”), located about 60 miles outside of Pittsburgh. While at IUP, Chase met his wife, Laura, played ACHA Division I hockey, and served as the captain of the hockey team his senior year. Chase graduated IUP with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Pre-law and a minor degree in Political Science, and he was an ACHA Academic All American his junior and senior year. During his sophomore year at IUP, he started the IUP Pre-Law Society and served as its President for three years. For six years throughout the final years of high school and while getting his undergraduate degree, Chase worked as a roofer laying shingles. Following IUP, Chase studied law at The University of South Carolina School of Law. He graduated in the top 15% of the class, cum laude, and Order of the Wig and Robe and served as the Senior Articles Editor of the South Carolina Law Review and as a Judicial Extern for Judge Michelle Childs in the District of South Carolina. Following law school, Chase began his career as a trial attorney at Nexsen Pruet, LLC – one of the region’s largest and well-respected law firms. While at Nexsen Pruet, Chase represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court and had a diverse litigation practice, handling matters related to federal antitrust cartels, unfair trade practice, complex commercial and business litigation, personal injury and related insurance actions, and land use litigation. Chase successfully represented businesses in multi-million-dollar disputes including prosecuting price-fixing antitrust cartels, breach of contract claims, and bad faith insurance claims for insurer’s failure to cover or defend an insured. Chase also represented individual plaintiffs who suffered personal injuries including dog bites, bed bugs, and injuries caused by the government. Importantly, Chase represented insurance companies in truck accidents and car accidents. While representing insurance companies, Chase learned how they value cases, he saw how they treat injured individuals, and he learned how they operate. David Conway was born in Charleston, South Carolina and raised on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, attending Porter-Gaud School and Bishop England High School. David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received Dean’s Honors. He was subsequently commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the South Carolina Army National Guard. Chris currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the North Carolina Army National Guard. During his twenty-eight years in the military Chris has served three active duty deployments with the United States Army. Two of these deployments were to the combat zones of Kuwait and Afghanistan. Chris was most recently deployed from 2015-2016 to Kosovo, a former province of the Republic of Yugoslavia. Chris continues to serve today as a Lieutenant Colonel in the North Carolina National Guard. After law school Chris practiced law in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for several years. He served as a contract public defender for two years representing clients in the Georgetown County Court of General Sessions. Derek is a native of Lancaster, South Carolina and a graduate of Lancaster High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2007 from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. While at Presbyterian, Derek was named to the Dean’s List, worked in the student center, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. Immediately following undergraduate school, Derek sought his Juris Doctor degree from Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, North Carolina. While attending law school, Derek studied abroad at the St. Mary’s University Institute on World Legal Problems, where he studied under an international faculty, including United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. After completing his education, Derek decided that the best use of his legal education would be to serve his hometown area. He began his legal career at a small firm in Lancaster, where he represented clients on a broad range of matters, including domestic, civil, criminal, and probate issues. Derek joins the Schiller & Hamilton team to head the firm’s newly reopened Lancaster Office to continue serving his hometown. He will focus his practice on family law and probate matters, as well as personal injury and accidents. Derek is an avid outdoorsman when not practicing law, and enjoys hunting and fishing throughout the year. He was awarded the Eagle Scout rank in 2001 while a member of Troop 72 of the Boy Scouts of America in Lancaster. Derek currently serves as an Area Chairman of Ducks Unlimited, leading the Lancaster County Chapter’s committee of volunteers to raise money and awareness to preserve and protect wetland habitat. In 2013, Derek completed the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Lancaster” program, a course designed to educate potential community leaders about the history, needs, and goals of Lancaster County. Derek and his wife, Natalie, are active in their church and community and enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.
