He has since retired and now my brother and sister-in-law, George L. Eveler, III and Kristine Eveler, and I continue to provide quality legal services to the York area. Chris Johnson is a native of Philadelphia and graduated from the William Penn Charter School. He received an academic scholarship to the University of Delaware where he majored in Economics and also competed on the Division I Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field teams. He graduated from Widener University School of Law in December 2009 and immediately went into private practice with the firm of Shanese I. Johnson & Associates, P.C. Chris currently practices in the firm's Family Law, Real Estate, and Criminal Law practice areas. Even though Chris is fairly new to the practice of law, Chris has already represented hundreds of clients in local Family Law matters in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Berks counties. Derek Liss, Esq. is a partner at Segal, Berk, Gaines and Liss who specializes in personal injury cases, specifically focusing on auto accidents, premise liability and slip and fall cases. He also handles all of the family law cases which includes divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support and protection from abuse. Mr. Liss graduated from The George Washington University with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree in 1991 and went on to graduate in 1994 from the Widener School of Law with his Juris Doctor degree. He joined the law firm of Segal, Berk, Gaines and Liss immediately following his graduation from Widener and has over 20 years of experience. Mr. Liss handles cases in Philadelphia, Montgomery County, Delaware County, Bucks County, Chester County and Berks County. He is admitted to practice in the courts of Pennsylvania and The United Stated District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Karen Ulmer is an attorney licensed to practice in both PA & NJ. Ms. Ulmer founded the law firm in 2001, concentrating her practice in the area of family law. Ms. Ulmer grew up in the Lower Bucks area. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Duke University in Durham, NC where she was the president of the Psychology Major's Union. She obtained her J.D. degree in 1995 from Widener University School of Law and where she served on the SBA and continues to serve on the Board of the Alumni Association since 2005. Ms. Ulmer obtained an advanced law degree in the area of Securities Law from Georgetown University Law Center in 1996.Ms.Ulmer is an active member of the Family Law section of the Bucks County Bar Association and has held offices in the YLD. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. She has been active in the high school mock trial competition for over fifteen years, and serves as the regional coordinator for Bucks, Chester and Delaware Counties. Ms.Ulmer  has been active in the AYUSA foreign exchange program and has hosted students from several countries. She is a trained mediator and focuses on resolving conflicts.Ms. Ulmer practices in the areas of family & matrimonial law as well as estates. She has served on the Board of the Peace Center in Langhorne, PA and currently serves on the Board of the YWCA. She has coached t-ball, and enjoys performing with the Vineyard Gypsies in her spare time.
