Shawn P. Eyestone, Attorney

Attorney Shawn Eyestone started Eyestone Law Offices, PLC so that he could more efficiently and effectively provide quality legal services to his clients than he found possible in other firms.  He decided to focus our practice in the areas of law where we have the greatest experience and that affect our clients the most, including estate planning, business, and real estate law.

Shawn Eyestone has worked for big city firms with as many as seventy attorneys as well as smaller firms with as few as five attorneys.  Because of this experience, he was able to gain valuable insight into the best that both approaches had to offer and is putting them to use for the benefit of his clients.

One of Shawn's passions is helping families with their financial and estate planning.  Many of these families also own businesses, including many healthcare professionals and facilities, where we have been able to provide guidance regarding entity selection, formation, admission of new owners, reorganization, dissolution, and succession planning. Shawn regularly advises our clients regarding general business operational matters, contract negotiations, real estate and equipment transactions, litigation avoidance, and regulatory compliance.

Shawn has also developed expertise in the areas of Stark, Anti-kickback, HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and other healthcare regulatory compliance issues. Additionally, he has significant experience in liquor license transfers and compliance with Liquor Control Commission rules and regulations and Federal trademark registrations.

Shawn graduated in 1997 from the Lee Honors College of Western Michigan University. In 2001, he earned his law degree from Wayne State University Law School. Following law school, he worked as an attorney in the estate planning, business and health law practice groups of several large and small West Michigan and Detroit-area law firms, gaining valuable experience and a very loyal client-following.

Shawn is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. He is active with the Grand Rapids Lions Club and is a past president and former director of the Specialized Language Development Center, a non-profit organization that helps individuals throughout West Michigan overcome dyslexia and other unique learning challenges. Whenever possible, he enjoys sharing his love of the outdoors and traveling with his young family.
