Terry M. Sanks | Orlando Intellectual Property Lawyer

Mr. Sanks is a registered patent attorney with experience in all areas of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade dress, trade secrets, and unfair competition.  Representing clients nationally and internationally, his patent preparation and prosecution experience has been in such technical fields as electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software as applicable in various areas including mobile technology, transportation systems, appliances, household products, building technology, manufacturing, and communications.  

He also has experience with Internet law and intellectual property business related matters.  Mr. Sanks’ intellectual property litigation experience has been in patent, trademark, copyright, trade dress, trade secret, unfair competition, computer fraud, and technology related cases.  

Mr. Sanks has served as a member of the adjunct faculty for both the Barry University School of Law and the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University College of Law.  Mr Sanks has been appointed to the Federal Court Practice Committee of the Florida Bar for 2013 through 2016.  He is also active in the Florida Bar as a member of the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar and as a member of the Entertainment Arts and Sports Law Section of the Florida Bar.

• Terry Sanks participated on a panel entitled The Entertainment Industry: How to Protect Your Client’s Rights as part of the 2009 Entertainment and Sports Law Symposium at the Florida A&M University College of Law on April 18, 2009. Mr. Sanks’ panel discussed numerous matters including rights holders’ deal expectations across various platforms, licensing of interactive products, protecting copyrights with the advancement in technology, as well as recent cases including Viacom Intern. Inc. v. YouTube, Inc., and Jones v. Blige.
