Wiley lives and works in Cary, North Carolina. In 1998, he graduated from Tulane University with a major in Political Science and a minor in History. After college Wiley went to work for Al Gore and travelled with Vice President Gore as part of his national advance staff. Following the Gore campaign he earned his law degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law in 2005. While in law school Wiley worked as a law clerk in the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office where he gained valuable criminal trial experience before taking and passing the California bar exam. His first job out of law school was for the Merced County District Attorney’s Office where he worked as a Deputy District Attorney. Wiley later joined the Law Offices of Joseph Uremovic where he focused on civil litigation and family law. When the opportunity came to join the Obama campaign in 2008 Wiley jumped at the chance. He spent the last three years travelling with President Obama as a member of his national advance team. In 2011 Wiley left his work for the White House to return to the practice of law. Wiley devotes the majority of his practice to the areas of criminal law, family law and traffic tickets/DMV issues. Wiley is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and California. Member Questionnaire

Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
One client was charged with three separate larceny charges. I was able to fight hard for her and all three cases were dismissed. The charges were recently expunged and now all trace of these three charges are erased from her record forever - helping her in the job market so that as she goes on interviews she can put her best foot forward. Another client's marijuana possession charge was just dismissed leaving him with a clean record.

How did you build a successful practice?
I work very hard for all of my clients and the word spread very quickly that I'm an attorney who gets very good outcomes for my clients at competitive prices.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
They want someone who will spend the time learning their history and who will take a look at the entire picture to better represent them in court.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is very important as all counties in North Carolina have their own unique way of dealing with criminal procedure. Having an attorney who knows Wake County is very important if you are charged with a crime in Wake County.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I go over everything that happened and advise them of their options.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
A former prosecutor who knows how to maneuver through the system to get great results for his clients.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Giving people a second chance to avoid some or all of the negative aspects of a bad decision.

What are your other interests in addition to law?
Golf, running, democratic politics and fantasy football.
