Adam Aparicio | Glendale Contracts Lawyer

Adam C. Aparicio, Attorney At Law is the Principal Attorney at Aparicio Law. His practice includes business, trusts and estate planning, real estate, taxation, non-profit organizations, and contract drafting and negotiation.

Mr. Aparicio received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College (“CMC”) with a Concentration in Business, Public Policy, and Public Law. While at CMC, he served as a Research Fellow for both the prestigious Kravis Leadership and Pacific Researchers Institutes.  He also served as an intern for Senator Dianne Feinstein in Los Angeles and the Senator’s Chief Judiciary Counsel in Washington D.C.

Mr. Aparicio received his Juris Doctorate from University of California Hastings College of the Law (“Hastings”), where he received a Certificate in Taxation as well as both the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence from the Witkin Legal Institute and the Excellence of the Future Award from the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction.

In 2000, Mr. Aparicio worked as a Legal Analyst for Ajalat, Polley, Ayoob & Matarese, California’s premier law firm for state and local taxes, analyzing State Board of Equalization and Franchise Tax Board positions regarding a variety of franchise, business and property taxes.  There, he participated in landmark multi-million dollar settlements with the City of San Francisco ($69 million) and City of Oakland ($2 million) resulting from each city’s unconstitutional business license tax.

In 2001, Mr. Aparicio externed with Presiding Justice Roger Boren of the California Court of Appeal.  He worked closely with Justice Boren to understand the inner workings of analyzing and drafting appellate opinions addressing both criminal and civil litigation.

In 2002, Mr. Aparicio practiced at Best, Best & Krieger, where he analyzed issues relating to public law, natural resources, corporate transactions, and taxation.

In 2003, as a result of his academic record, legal writing skills, and impressive work ethic, Presiding Justice Boren of the California Court of Appeal, awarded Mr. Aparicio a semester clerkship for academic credit.

In 2004, Mr. Aparicio joined Edison ESI (“ESI”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southern California Edison.  He spent the next six years managing risk and negotiating nearly $80 million dollars of third-party utility contracts.  In 2007, ESI named Mr. Aparicio the chair of both the Internal Controls Committee and Risk Management Council, the youngest employee ever at either position.  Mr. Aparicio also received certificates in Project Management and Frontline Leadership.
