"Frank" Symphorien-Saavedra focuses his practice primarily on immigration and nationality law, while also handling a number of criminal and personal injury law matters with immigration law components. Mr. Symphorien Saavedra handles many cases involving traffic or criminal offenses that place an immigrant's status in jeopardy, among other criminal matters. Similarly, Mr. Symphorien Saavedra handles all personal injury cases with particular focus on cases involving immigrant plaintiffs.

A native of Venezuela, Mr. Symphorien-Saavedra immigrated to the United States when he was 11 years old. A staunch believer in America's promise of opportunity for his children, his father worked 24-hour shifts as a taxi driver in New York City so he could bring his wife and children to the United States. Upon arriving in the United States, Mr. Symphorien-Saavedra quickly became fluent in English, entering English-only classes within a few short months. He continued to excel in school, earning several academic scholarships to the University of South Florida, becoming the first in his family to go to college.

Aspiring to help others fulfill their dreams of immigrating to America, Mr. Symphorien-Saavedra worked as a research assistant at an immigration and nationality law firm in Tampa. Through this experience, he developed a passion for his work and decided to pursue a legal career. After graduating with high honors from USF, Mr. Symphorien-Saavedra enrolled at The Florida State University College of Law. Mr. Symphorien-Saavedra excelled in law school, focusing his studies on Asylum and Refugee law, International Law, and serving as an editor of the FSU Journal of Transnational Law and Policy.

• Case Conclusion Date: October 29, 2013 Practice Area: Immigration Outcome: Cancellation of Removal Granted Description: client convicted of Cocaine Possession with a Gun, Marijuana possession, DUI, Burglary, Grand Theft, and Battery. Removal proceeding commenced and client faced removal to Zambia. Case Conclusion Date: August 26, 2013 Practice Area: Immigration Outcome: Immigrant Visa Issued and client admitted to U.S. Description: Client charged with four counts of grand theft on two separate occasions within 5 years of earning permanent resident status. Client left the United States and a capias was issued. Criminal case was resolved with co-counsel to a single misdemeanor petty theft offense. U.S. wife petitioned for client anew. Immigrant visa was initially refused but after attorney follow-up, the immigrant visa was issued an client was admitted for permanent residence once again. Case Conclusion Date: February 22, 2012 Practice Area: Immigration Outcome: Immigrant Visa Issued Description: Client's Immigrant visa application was pending for well over 3 years, after being denied twoice. After repeated inquiries the Department of State refused to issue an Immigrant visa based upon undisclosed claims of fraud. After we filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District, the Vietnam consulate promptly contacted our office.
