Recently I had the opportunity to represent a nurse who was injured by an uninsured motorist (someone driving a car with no insurance). When she made the claim against her own insurance company they wanted to blame her injury on her job. Rather than listening to their own insured they fought her at every step which she never expected from the insurance company she had been paying for years and years. After it became clear that my client was willing to go to trial and stand up for herself we obtained a fair settlement for her injuries. While it seems like a "typical" case of the insurance company refusing to pay, this one hit a little bit different the way our opposition tried to use her past against her when she had dedicated so much of it to helping others.

We don't focus on building a successful practice, we focus on only our clients. First we make it a point to maximize the value of every case rather than trying to sign up every case. Second we treat everyone as if the case is the most important one we have, because we recognize it's likely the most important case they will ever have. That means not only obtaining great results but keeping our clients informed through every step in the process. By doing what is right for our clients they tell family and friends about us and the practice grows from there.

The most important question is, do they litigate cases and go to trial? That is our focus, when a client comes in we are immediately thinking about what needs to be done in the event the case goes to trial. By focusing on that rather than trying to settle the case we best position our clients to obtain the recovery they deserve.

Understanding everyone involved in a case is critical, including the client. We always want to understand the needs of our client in order to make the appropriate recommendations when decisions are needed. It is also important to understand the insurance carrier, defense counsel and judge (if one is involved) as they each handle cases in a different manner. Having litigated hundreds of cases we have insights other lawyers who simply process files may not have.

The information we are able to provide is typically as good as the information we are provided with. That is to say the more we know the better we are able to assess a matter. Over the last two years we have invested heavily in technology which allows us to handle almost every aspect of a case from start to finish remotely.

To start with we only need to know "what happened". We understand that sometimes in the immediate aftermath of a crash it is difficult to have "all" the information which might eventually be needed. However by calling us and getting us fighting for you sooner rather than later we can actually take a lot of that burgeon off of you and assure you retain all of your rights without inadvertently giving any up.

Results and Communication. Our intense focus on each case allows us to maximize the results and communication goes hand in hand with that. We can't obtain the best possible results for our clients without understanding who they are, what they have been through and what they will be going through in the future. This process mandates two way communication which assures our clients are always updated on the status of their case because we are always keeping an eye on their health and status.

For me there are two aspects which compliment each other. I like to help others and I like to win, my job allows me to do both of those things. My job as a personal injury attorney also ensures when I am successful personally that my clients also benefit. Some lawyers get paid for simply showing up, hour by hour they get paid no matter what. I like the challenge of needing to win and knowing the more I win the better off my clients will be.
