She received her Juris Doctorate degree in 2008 from Drake University. While at Drake University, Laura was a member of the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity and served as the President of Drake Law Women from 2007-2008. Laura was a Student Criminal Defense Attorney at the Drake Legal Clinic, was the legal clerk at an employment discrimination law firm, and was a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Drake University Softball Team.
Laura is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State, and American Bar Associations and is a member of the Polk County Women Attorneys. Laura was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2008.
