Rebecca A. Lucero, Attorney

Rebecca is an associate with the Schaefer Law Firm, LLC where she concentrates her practice on employment law and consumer protection law.

In the employment law realm, Rebecca works with clients on a wide variety of matters involving discrimination, retaliation and other issues of illegal workplace conduct, as well as with the negotiation and drafting of employment and severance agreements.

Rebecca is also a member of the firm's consumer protection practice group, representing clients who have been the victims of credit reporting abuse, home mortgage foreclosures, and predatory lending practices.

She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and serves on the board of the Minnesota Chapter. She is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), the Lavender Bar Association, the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association, and Minnesota Women Lawyers.

Rebecca received her B.A. fromGrinnell College and her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. She joined the Schaefer Law Firm, LLC. in 2008. During law school Rebecca was a student director for the Workers' Rights Clinic where she represented clients on discrimination, retaliation, and unpaid wage claims. In the summer of 2007 she was awarded a Mansfield Fellowship with the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis where she continued to work until joining the Schaefer Law Firm. At Legal Aid, Rebecca primarily worked in the Consumer Unit to eliminate the practice of equity-stripping through various state and federal claims including TILA and FDCPA claims. During law school, Rebecca was also an active volunteer with the Minnesota Justice Foundation which awarded her their 2006 Law Student Volunteer Award.
