As a Bankruptcy Lawyer and Business Litigator for over 30 years, I have helped countless businesses and individuals successfully work through and resolve their financial challenges. What may look to you like a disaster, I have handled multiple times. It’s a question of whether your attorney has the right toolbox and knows the right tool to solve your problem. Due to my broad experience, I have all of the necessary tools at my disposal and will share them with you. I represent debtors and creditors in all chapters of the United States Bankruptcy Code, however, I focus on keeping clients out of bankruptcy where possible. My strong suit is settling litigation and creditor claims. I have resolved millions of dollars in debt for clients at enormous savings by avoiding or resolving litigation. I have significant experience resolving businesses in wage and hour and other labor cases. Resolving such claims and saving clients hundreds of thousands of dollars. My primary area of focus is working with small and mid-sized businesses to resolve their debt and other financial issues and help them continue and move forward. I have significant experience in Chapter 11 reorganization and Subchapter V Bankruptcy cases, out-of-court debt restructures, debt settlement, and assignments for the benefit of creditors. I also handle financial problems for individuals. This includes representation in personal bankruptcy cases, out-of-court debt negotiation, and asset protection. As a full-service insolvency attorney, I am also versed in creditors’ rights and represent secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy court and the state courts. My experience representing both creditors and debtors makes me an excellent choice as I can anticipate how the other side thinks and what moves they are likely to make. I pride myself when representing creditors in getting them what they are owed. I pride myself when representing debtors in saving the business or the client’s assets and paying as little as possible. I am known as an extremely creative problem solver and an attorney who can handle tough cases on both sides of the line. I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in 1982 from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1987, I received my Juris Doctor from the University of California, where I served as the Chair of the Hale Moot Court Honors Program. I began my career in 1987 at the premiere boutique bankruptcy law firm Levene & Eisenberg. I then became a senior associate in the Banking and Finance Department of nationally recognized firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, and thereafter served as in-house counsel for City National Bank. I established my own firm in 1992 and formed Weintraub Law Corporation in 2001, now known as Weintraub Zolkin Talerico & Liu LLP. I am a member of the Los Angeles County and the Beverly Hills Bar Associations and the Individual and Consumer Bankruptcy Sub-Committee of the LA County Bar Section on Commercial Law and Bankruptcy. Gregory T. Babbitt received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara (B.A., Political Science, 1993) and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law (J.D., 1997). While in law school, Mr. Babbitt clerked for California Court of Appeal, Associate Justice Richard D. Huffman. Mr. Babbitt has dedicated his career as a California lemon attorney to protecting consumers. Prior to joining the California auto fraud law firm of the Auto Fraud Legal Center, Mr. Babbitt was a Deputy Attorney General for the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection (1998-2001), where he investigated and litigated fraudulent and deceptive business practices in the areas of automobile sales and repairs, home improvement, predatory lending, and debt collection. This experience served as the catalyst to his current California lemon law and auto fraud practice. Mr. Babbitt currently handles California car lemon and auto fraud cases (individual and class actions), and new and used California Lemon Law cases. He has obtained significant recoveries for consumers in a variety of areas, including the sale of prior rentals, demonstrators, lemon law buy-backs, salvage, flood damaged, and prior wrecks without disclosure, and for packing – a practice that involves the sale of items such as alarms, window etching, paint and fabric protection, GAP insurance, or warranties without the purchaser’s request or knowledge. In January 2005, Mr. Babbitt was trial counsel with Douglas Law for the trial of Robertson v. Fleetwood Trailers of California (Tulare County). A cracked shower drain caused water to leak into the underbelly of the Robertson’s trailer and mold to grow there. After trial, the jury ordered Fleetwood to repurchase the Robertson’s trailer and pay a civil penalty for failing to repurchase the trailer prior to the lawsuit being filed. Mr. Babbitt is a member of the State Bar of California, the State Bar of Pennsylvania, the State Bar of Arizona, and National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA). Bonnie Watkins is an Associate Attorney at Singleton Schreiber and is part of the bad faith practice. Ms. Watkins focuses on cases involving numerous plaintiffs affected by similar harms, including consumer class action cases, unfair business practice claims, and environmental cases. Before joining Singleton Schreiber, Ms. Watkins clerked for the 7th Judicial District in Idaho, before joining the Prosecuting Attorney's office in Bonneville County, Idaho. Currently, Ms. Watkins is working on representing the victims of the Eaton and Palisades Fires and helping them fight against the bad faith conduct of their insurers. Bonnie Watkins graduated from the J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2019 and is barred in Idaho, Utah, the United States District Court of Idaho, and the United States Bankruptcy Court of Idaho. During law school, Ms. Wakins practiced on the Trial Advocacy Team, where she represented BYU in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. Andrew Bluth is a partner in the Sacramento office of Singleton Schreiber and, along with Chris Rodriguez, leads the firm’s Mass Tort practice group. Mr. Bluth has spent his entire career litigating complex civil disputes in state and federal court and has tried cases to juries and judges throughout California and the nation. His experience includes handling consumer class action cases, unfair business practice claims, and environmental cases. He has litigated cases involving a wide variety of issues, such as the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), California’s “two-party consent” telephone recording statutes, health care issues, contract disputes, and banking issues. Mr. Bluth graduated in 2004 from the University of California-Davis School of Law where he represented victims of civil rights violations in the school’s Civil Rights Clinic. He was President of the Moot Court Honors Board and competed on behalf of the law school at moot court competitions. He was also an editor for the Journal of International Law and Policy, and graduated as a member of the Order of the Barristers. Early in his law career, Mr. Bluth was consistently recognized as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” He has been regularly recognized as a Sacramento Magazine “Top Lawyer.” Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Bluth was a reporter for the New York Times and the Orange County Register, where he covered national breaking news events as well as the surf and restaurant industries. Andrew grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated with a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University in 1997. He lives in Sacramento with his wife, two children, and two disobedient dogs. Alexia Palacios-Peters is an Associate Attorney in Singleton Schreiber's San Diego office, where she represents survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking. With a career dedicated to protecting vulnerable populations and advocating for underserved communities, she brings both compassion and expertise to her practice. Alexia's commitment to victim advocacy began when she served as Managing Attorney for the restraining order clinic at the San Diego Family Justice Center, where she protected individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Her career later took her to Washington, D.C., where she worked for the federal government at the Board of Veterans' Appeals, adjudicating veteran appeals and furthering her dedication to serving those who have sacrificed for others. This diverse experience has shaped her holistic approach to representing clients who have endured trauma and are seeking justice. Alexia holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin, a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, and a Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law from George Washington University Law School. Jon Cadieux is a member of Singleton Schreiber’s Fire Litigation practice group and has extensive experience preparing wildfire cases for trial and mediation. He also has expertise in employment law and municipal law. Early in his legal career, Mr. Cadieux worked with Gerald Singleton in litigation stemming from the 2007 San Diego wildfires. He then joined a firm dedicated to labor and employment law, where he spent 11 years representing workers in a variety of forums, helping them secure better pay, safer working conditions, and protection from workplace harassment. After a year working as a deputy city attorney, Mr. Cadieux returned to Singleton Schreiber to represent fire victims once again. Mr. Cadieux earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, San Diego before graduating cum laude from California Western School of Law. He is admitted to practice in California state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In his leisure time, Mr. Cadieux enjoys music, gardening, and everything about raising his son, including coaching his youth soccer team.
