Ms. Myers joined Pearson & Paris, P.C. on January 8, 2018. Ms. Myers received her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University Law School. During her law school tenure, Ms. Myers served as Editor-in-Chief of the Valparaiso University Law Review and was one of the founding members and treasurer of the Asian American Pacific Islander Law Student Association. Ms. Myers also participated in the Juvenile and Family Law clinic where she served as Guardian Ad Litem in family related matters to help resolve disputes of parenting time and decision-making responsibility. Ms. Myers also appeared in the Porter County Juvenile Court as a public defender for individuals facing contempt charges for failure to pay child support. Ms. Myers was a recipient of the Hoeppner, Wagner & Evans Scholarship for outstanding commitment to the law school and was awarded the Scribes Award for demonstrating the highest levels of legal professionalism and excellence in legal writing. In May 2017, Ms. Myers was inducted into the National Order of Scribes. Ms. Myers is sympathetic to the emotional strain many families endure in the field of domestic relations. She uses her passion and empathy to advocate for her clients, while recognizing the unique dynamics of each family and her specific role she plays within those dynamics. I am a twelve-year Veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired 20-year law enforcement professional. Over the course of my police career, I served in three Colorado agencies and have extensive training in criminal investigations, traffic violations, DUIs, and standardized field sobriety testing (the "roadside maneuvers"). I have worked as a member of the Motorcycle Traffic Unit, as a Technical Accident Reconstructionist, as a Patrol Sergeant, a firearms and tactics instructor, have made countless DUI and criminal arrests, and conducted hundreds of investigations. After graduating from law school, I worked for a prominent criminal defense firm on felony and misdemeanor cases and as a prosecutor before opening my own practice. I use my extensive training and real-world experience to safeguard the rights of the accused and protect those wrongly charged. I know the criminal justice system from the inside out which means I work for my clients from a position of knowledge and strength.

Steve was born and raised in Colorado Springs where graduated from Palmer High School. He attended Cornell College, earning a bachelor’s of arts degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. He then attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, initially focusing his studies on pharmaceutical and biotechnology intellectual property law. At the encouragement of a Trial Practice Professor, Steve began an internship with the California Innocence Project and then worked with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office, one of the nation’s most prestigious prosecutor’s offices. Steve quickly realized that he was much more interested in becoming a trial attorney, and changed the focus of his legal education. Steve eventually returned to Colorado, and after passing the Colorado Bar Exam, accepted a position as a Deputy District Attorney in the Fourth Judicial District. As a DA, Steve initially prosecuted DUI cases, serious traffic offenses, domestic violence cases, and other misdemeanors. After only three months prosecuting misdemeanor cases, Steve was moved to the felony prosecution unit, where he prosecuted a wide range of felony cases, ranging from simple theft and drug cases, to homicides and assaults. Finally, Steve was assigned the coveted position as a member of the Vehicular Homicide/Vehicular Assault team, where he vertically prosecuted fatal traffic accidents, DUI and reckless driving charges resulting in death and serious bodily injury, and homicides. Before leaving the DA’s Office, Steve received the “Tradition of Excellence” Award. After leaving the DA’s Office, Steve joined a large civil litigation firm, where his practice focused on personal injury litigation. Steve joined McDowell/Rodemer, LLC as a partner in an effort to broaden the practice in civil litigation and criminal defense. After leaving McDowell/Rodemer, LLC , Steve became a sole practitioner, in an effort to maintain a smaller caseload and provide more attention to each client. Today, Steve is recognized as a premier trial attorney in Colorado. He has been named as one of the top 40 attorneys under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers for 2012 and 2013. The National Advocacy for DUI Defense recently named Steve as one of the Top 100 DUI Defense attorneys. He is a member of the prestigious National College for DUI Defense, and holds the rating of 10/10 “Superb” by Avvo. Steve is a member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association. Steve has tried countless criminal and civil matters, and continues to do so on a very regular basis with outstanding results. When not in the courtroom, Steve is an avid golfer.

Mr. Carbonneau joined Pearson and Paris, P.C. in March of 2021. Mr. Carbonneau received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School. During his law school tenure, Mr. Carbonneau focused on building his litigation experience. He interned for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Denver Office. There, he assisted both the trial and investigations teams in the detection of financial crimes and the prosecution of those crimes. After working for the SEC, Stephen worked for the Adams County District Attorneys Office where he appeared as a prosecutor in misdemeanor and traffic cases. After graduating law school in 2018, Mr. Carbonneau was offered a position with the Grand County District Attorney’s Office. In that role, Mr. Carbonneau was responsible for all aspects of prosecuting cases. He handled everything ranging from jury trials to motions hearings, bond hearings, appeals, and plea negotiations. In April of 2020, Mr. Carbonneau left his position with the Grand County District Attorney’s Office to start his own solo law practice. While thriving as a solo practitioner, Mr. Carbonneau broadened his expertise from criminal to other areas of law such as family law and landlord-tenant disputes. Fred A. Dunsing attended law school after employment in the E&C, software, and manufacturing industries. He attended school at night while working full-time during the day. Even though he attended school at night, he managed to gain a significant amount of client representation and trial experience through the Student Law Office operated by the University of Denver and sanctioned under Colorado law.{newline}{newline}After graduation, Fred practiced mainly in the areas of business organizations, criminal defense, civil litigation and family law. Fred currently maintains a litigation practice and limits that practice to family law, which he has done for nearly 20 years. Fred’s family law practice includes the areas of divorce, legal separation, annulments, child custody disputes, property settlements, post-decree modifications, paternity and visitation, grandparent rights, and (pre)marital agreements. Fred is rated “AV-Preeminent” by Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest rating an attorney can receive.{newline}{newline}Fred strives to find cost-effective solutions for clients during negotiations, in litigation, or on appeal. Peter Menges received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1997. He also received a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1997, where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Menges spent his first five years of practice as a Trial Attorney with the Denver Office of The Office of the Colorado Public Defender. Mr. Menges opened The Law Office of Peter D. Menges, P.C. in January of 2003 and has been exclusively in private practice ever since. Mr. Menges has extensive trial experience. Mr. Menges has personally handled over a hundred trials. He has tried cases in Federal District Court, Colorado State District Court in numerous jurisdictions, County Court cases in numerous jurisdictions, Municipal Court matters in numerous jurisdictions, and Administrative Hearings in a number of forums. Mr. Menges has also handled Arbitrations and Mediations in civil cases. In the Federal Criminal Court context, Mr. Menges has successfully defended clients in many complex prosecutions for “white collar” cases, such as mortgage fraud, bank fraud, and computer crimes, as well as other complex cases such as large-scale drug conspiracies. Mr. Menges has served on the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the United States District Court in Denver since 2003. He has lectured to hundreds of Colorado criminal defense attorneys on criminal defense law and procedure. He does pro bono work for those in need, and in 2004 was awarded the Colorado Lawyers’ Committee’s Community Contribution Award for his work fighting to secure the release of a formerly mentally ill patient who had been indefinitely committed to the Colorado Mental Health Institute after a “not guilty by reason of insanity” commitment.
