About David
Born in Richmond and raised in Vancouver, David received his law degree from the University of Manchester. Since he began practicing law David has had a wide variety of exposure to complex family and civil litigation, including class actions. For a number of years, David practiced in the area of insurance defense, eventually bringing his extensive experience to bear working for Personal injury victims. Since joining Taylor & Blair David’s interest has also grown to include the areas of insurance denial claims, employment law, and elder law matters.
David has successfully appeared before all levels of the British Columbia court system and has significant experience in mediation and negotiations to resolve issues outside of the court system.
Outside of work David spends time with his wife and young children.

Lam v. University of British Columbia
David successfully appeared before the British Columbia Court of Appeal in a class action. The appeal dealt with whether or not frozen human sperm could be considered "property" or "goods" as defined by the Warehouse Receipt Act of British Columbia.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
A client was being maligned by a defendant who was acting in bad faith, the effects of which were catastrophic. Through our investigative work we were able to obtain evidence to disprove these allegations and move towards a successful resolution.

The most important thing to look for in a lawyer is someone who will answer your questions in a timely fashion, in clear language, and will work to find the solution to your legal problem that is best for you.

Laws can be dramatically different from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Local understanding of the laws and court procedures can be invaluable.

In addition to law I have a strong love of the outdoors, including camping, canoeing and kayaking.
