Mr. Alderman married a Georgia educator; Amy Holland, formerly of Dexter, GA who spent the past four decades instructing students in Jones, Twiggs, Ben Hill, Walton, Baldwin, Bibb and Clarke counties. His daughter Kim works as a nurse practitioner in Columbus, Georgia.

Marvin A. Devlin is a 1983 graduate of Harvard Law School and was admitted to practice law the same year. He began his career at one of the premier trial and litigation firms in Atlanta Georgia, eventually becoming a partner. After practicing there for 17 years he left to open his own firm and continued his litigation and trial practice. The cases in which he has been involved number in the thousands. He has tried an overwhelming number of cases in many if not most of Georgia's legal jurisdictions, counties, and judicial circuits including all Federal Courts in Georgia. On several occasions, he has tried cases that have lasted one week, two weeks, three weeks, a month, and even three months. Christy, as she likes to be called, is a native of Cobb County, born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. After graduating from Mt. Paran Christian School, located in Cobb, she attended Kennesaw State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree. While at Kennesaw State University, Christy served as President and Vice President of various honor clubs as well as an intern for the Georgia State Senate. Christy attended Georgia State University College of Law graduating Cum Laude in 2009. During her tenure at Georgia State, she was a member of the College of Law Moot Court team and served as an extern for Fulton County Superior Court.
