Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

I was lead attorney on a nursing home malpractice case which settled for $1,465,000 in 2020. The case involved blatant gross negligence on the part of the professional staff that failed to properly care for a patient. I worked hard, on behalf of the family, to show the poor conditions and lack of proper medical care provided to the patient. Although the case was sad from the standpoint of the care provided, our firm helped the family recover funds due to the substandard care.

How did you build a successful practice?

I always work to do the right thing for my clients. I want to make sure the client is well represented and has a good experience with our firm knowing that we work hard for the best outcome possible.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for a lawyer who will not only promise to do a goood job, but who will follow through and actually do a good job. Clients should also look for a lawyer who shows that he or she cares about the client and works hard to help them. Sincerity is important if a lawyer is going to provide professional representation to a client.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Knowledge iin a certain practice area is key to knowing how to handle the case to maximize the benefit to the client.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

In a free phone consultation we can provide the prospective client information as to whether our firm can be of assistance and what we can do to help.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need to understand what the person\'s case is about as well as understand what the person\'s expectations are. I need to know enough detail to decide if and how I can be of assistance as an attorney.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I represent invidiuals in social security disability claims, workers\\\' compensation claims as well as nursing home abuse cases. I also speak Spanish and am able to represent spanish speaking individuals who are hurt at work and want an attorney who can speak with them in their language.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is helping people. I help people get benefits to which they are often entitled but have difficulty getting on their own, either because of an insurance company that denies the claim or because of the government denying their disability claim. When I help the client get their benefits started, either medical care or payments, I feel a great sense of satisfaction.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I am fascinated with languages and am always working to increase my understanding and knowledge of French, Spanish, and Italian. I also am an avid runner and try to stay physically active. I also love college football and am a fan of Clemson Football.

Are you involved in your community?

I have been involved in community efforts such as the free medical clinic in our area. I am also active in my neighborhood homeowners' association. I am a member of Easley Presbyterian Church.
