About Michael
Over the course of his legal career spanning more than 26 years, Mr. Goldberg has achieved considerable success fighting for the rights and entitlements of his plaintiff clients, and he has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for individuals and families adversely affected by motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall accidents, medical malpractice and other acts of negligence or wrongdoing. He also has extensive experience handling cases involving soft tissue damages that are hard to diagnose and which insurance companies often refuse to cover.
Well-versed in the state's no-fault injury laws, Mr. Goldberg delivers invaluable counsel regarding the viability of a client's claim, and he provides an honest assessment of the chances of that client recovering the full amount of compensation he or she deserves. Recognized for his impeccable professionalism and outstanding client service, he has earned consistent top rankings and endorsements from his peers as well as numerous testimonials and referrals from his satisfied clients.
A 1991 graduate of Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in engineering, Mr. Goldberg obtained both his Juris Doctor and his master's degree in intellectual property law from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1994.
He holds his license to practice in New York and New Jersey, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I represented a woman who worked at JFK airport and was in a car accident. She underwent multiple surgeries and could not return to work. I assisted her with getting her Workers Compensation benefits, social security disability benefits and handled her car accident case against the parties responsible and recently settled it for 1.8 million. She will now be able to live for the rest of her life without worrying about money.
How did you build a successful practice?
It was not easy and was unintentional in the beginning. Back 25 years ago, I was a registered Patent Attorney and did not like the field. While searching for a new field of law to practice, i ended up doing per diem work for several big personal injury law firms and learned the business. I handled much of their overflow and conflict work, and before i knew it, i had my own practice!
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
It's not what clients should look for. Its what clients should stay away from! Avoid firms that make promises about the amount they will receive. Avoid firms where the clients only deal with staff and paralegals and never talk to the attorney. Avoid firms that use runners to secure their clients. Avoid firms that do not come with a strong recommendation.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is very important, as the same case in upstate New York needs to be handled very differently than a case handled in the Bronx. Likewise, it is important to retain and attorney that is in the local courts often and knows the judges and court personnel.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can advise the caller if i am the right attorney for them and if they are the right client for me! I do not accept all clients and cases so the latter is very important. I can advise about reasonable expectations, to an extent. I can advise about the legal process and what is involved and how the law works.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
All the basics. Full contact information. Full details about the accident or claim. Details about the treatment history and current complaints. Willingness to go to medical providers for further treatment.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
1. Accessibility. All of my clients get my personal cell phone number and can reach me 24/7. 2. Honest and forthright. I tell my clients what they should expect and what i truly think about the merits of their cases from the beginning. 3. Aggressive. I move my cases through the court quickly and aggressively. Files do NOT collect dust in my office.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Knowing that i built up my practice completely on my own! Knowing that i have full control of my work, clients, hours. Learning something new every day. You are NEVER too old to learn.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
I am an avid fisherman, scuba diver (rescue certified), boater and brown belt in jujitsu.
Are you involved in your community?
Yes, i am a member of many legal associations in the area. i am on the NYC and Nassau County bar association referral network. I am very involved and active in various Jewish organizations.
