He attended high school in Thompson, Connecticut at Marianapolis Preparatory School and graduated with a classical and a scientific diploma. Thereafter, he attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and received a BA degree with majors in history and chemistry, minors in economics. He attended and graduated from Thomas Cooley Law School in May 1978. He’s married with seven children, which include six sons and one daughter. His outside interests include gardening, wilderness camping, playing and teaching music, cooking, writing, and competitive league bowling during the winter months.

Paul Winter specializes in estate planning, estate and trust administration, elder law, real estate, and business planning for individuals, and closely held businesses. He has worked on thousands of estate plans and hundreds of commercial, multi-family and residential real estate transactions. He also does Medicaid planning. Before co-founding the firm, he worked for large law firms in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Louisiana, and is a former adjunct professor for the Masters of Taxation program at Walsh College in the Detroit area. Paul enjoys playing golf, tennis, power boating, and rowing. In 2015 he founded the Spring Lake Crew Club and serves as the Director of Rowing for Spring Lake and Grand Haven High School and Middle School teams. His son rowed at GVSU his freshman year in the Men’s Novice 8, which went to the finals of the American College Championships in 2019. His daughter also rowed and played varsity tennis for Spring Lake High School.

Mr. Dillon received his bachelor of arts in 1984 from Kalamazoo College, where he captained the Division III football team for two years, while also being active in intercollegiate baseball and wrestling. Michael Willis founded this firm with his brother, Shaun Patrick Willis. Their father, Hon. Frank D. Willis, is the probate judge for Van Buren County, and Michael proudly carries on the family tradition in estate law by focusing his practice in estate planning, probate and estate and trust administration, and estate litigation.
