Corey MacDonald is the founder of MacDonald Law, PC, and Black Lion Services, PLLC. MacDonald began his law practice in 2005 and is admitted to the bars of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Colorado, and the 1st Circuit Federal District Court. MacDonald Law is a New Hampshire based litigation practice focusing on all aspects of family law from divorce to post-divorce and parenting disputes. The firm also provides representation in select criminal defense matters at the state level. With over 27 years of law and law enforcement and prosecutorial experience, Attorney MacDonald has put together a team of professionals who are considered among the top in the state at representing their clients. Prior to practicing law full-time, MacDonald ran his practice part-time while serving for over 18 years in law enforcement. He spent most of his law enforcement career as a detective rising to the position of Chief of Detectives for the City of Portsmouth and then Deputy Chief of Police. He also served as the City Prosecutor for three years trying hundreds of cases throughout the District Court. MacDonald was appointed by Attorney General Eric Holder's administration as the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Commander for the State of New Hampshire. MacDonald received an honorable early retirement as the Deputy Chief of Police to run his growing law practice on a full-time basis. Corey MacDonald was named one of NH's Top Forty Under 40 in 2011; as well as NH's Young Professional of the Year in 2014; and one of Seacoastonline.com's “Top 10 to Watch” young professionals. MacDonald serves on the New Hampshire Association for Justice Board of Directors and co-chairs the family law section. Chuck Douglas is a practicing lawyer in the state of Georgia. He received his J.D. from Georgia State University. He currently works for his privately owned firm of Wakhisi-Douglas, LLC.

Cristina is a partner at the firm. Her passion for her work is evident to anyone who talks to her and most important to all the clients she represents. Cristina is dedicated to serving the needs of her clients and her expertise has resulted in many outstanding personal injury settlements. She is skilled in navigating the complex waters of insurance coverage, workers compensation law and personal injury law. She has worked closely with the Multicultural Center in Manchester, NH to provide legal access to the Spanish speaking community. She is also a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children) and strives to provide a voice for abused and neglected children and youth. Cristina also traveled to Texas in 2018 to the Dilley Detention Center as a volunteer to work with women and children asylum seekers. Cristina successfully completed ATLA's Ultimate Trial Advocacy College: Art of Persuasion at Harvard Law School. She was co-counsel in Mann v. Adventure Quest, et al were the jury awarded a 5-million-dollar verdict to a victim of sexual abuse; she was also part of the jury selection team in Heco v. Johnson Controls, Inc., where a jury awarded a record setting verdict of 43 million dollars. Cristina appears regularly at the Department of Labor in New Hampshire and Vermont helping injured workers. She travels throughout both New Hampshire and Vermont, handling all aspects of her client's cases from simple meetings to entire trials. Cristina was born and raised in Quito-Ecuador. She first came to the United States as an exchange student in 1989 and made New Hampshire her permanent residence in 1991. She became a U.S. citizen in 2000. She lives in Lebanon, New Hampshire with her husband where they have raised their three boys. Cristina enjoys cooking, traveling, scuba diving, and experiencing other cultures.

Kristin Ross is a partner at the firm. She focuses her practice on guiding clients through insurance claims and all stages of litigation. She represents injured individuals in Vermont and New Hampshire in personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, and insurance coverage disputes. She has experience and success in trial as well as all stages of litigation including depositions of witnesses and experts, motion practice, and conducting mediations. Kristin has had enormous success negotiating large, confidential settlements for her clients. She was also a critical member of the appellate team in Dzemila Heco v. Johnson Controls, Inc., playing an important role in the Vermont Supreme Court brief and appeal for the firm's client who received a 43-million-dollar verdict in a product's liability case. Kristin earned her Juris Doctor at Vermont Law School in 2009. While at Vermont Law School, Kristin served on the Moot Court Advisory Board based on her advocacy skills. She was part of the General Practice Program, a limited enrollment certification program that combined substantive law with practical skills. In 2007 and 2008 Kristin served as part of the Service Member's Legal Defense Network by lobbying Congress to repeal the "don't ask don't tell" military policy. Kristin was awarded Academic Achievement Awards in 2007 and 2008 and also received the Dean's Fellowship Scholarship for academic success from 2007 through 2009. Kristin graduated in the top 10% of her law school class. She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Vermont, as well as New Hampshire's and Vermont's federal courts. Kristin has been very involved in national and statewide professional associations of trial attorneys working to make sure people have a fair chance to receive justice through the legal system. She is currently serving as the President of the New Hampshire Association for Justice (NHAJ) and has previously served as the organization's secretary, treasurer, and president-elect as well as chair of the Membership Committee. Kristin also serves on the board of the Vermont Association for Justice (VTJA). She is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and a member of the New Hampshire Women's Bar Association. Kristin has served on the Grafton County Bar Association's executive committee since 2011 as Secretary, Vice President, and President. As the longest continuously active bar association in the Western Hemisphere, the Grafton County Bar Association represents an active network of attorneys and legal professionals with a longstanding commitment to excellence in the legal field. In 2018, Kristin was elected to become a member of the New Hampshire Bar Foundation Fellows, an honorary organization of attorneys and judges who have been elected by their peers because they demonstrated outstanding achievement in the legal profession and unwavering dedication to serving the public, particularly in supporting equal access to justice and the improvement of our justice system. Kristin graduated from Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyer's College in Dubois, Wyoming in September, 2012. She was unanimously elected Class Representative by her class. She served on the College's Alumni F-Warrior Board from 2012-2015. Kristin was one of fourteen attorneys chosen to be part of the 2014-2015 NHBA Leadership Academy, a leadership-training program whose mission is to promote and encourage leadership and professionalism by identifying present and future leaders who are members of the New Hampshire Bar, and providing them with a program designed to develop leadership skills; to foster camaraderie; and to provide exposure to leaders in the legal, business and government communities. Kira Botting is an associate at the firm. She proudly represents individuals in Vermont personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. Kira joined the firm in 2016 as a paralegal. She has worked on numerous injury cases through every step of the process, including insurance claim negotiation, litigation, mediation, arbitration, and trial. Kira is honored to help clients navigate what is often an overwhelming process while they recover from their injuries. Kira acquired her legal education the old-fashioned way: by apprenticeship! She completed Vermont’s Law Office Study Program, where she “read the law” for four years under the mentorship of the firm’s experienced and knowledgeable partners, Cristina Rousseau and Kristin Ross. She worked closely with Cristina and Kristin on a wide array of injury cases, including car accidents, medical malpractice, products liability, and workers’ compensation. Kira went on to pass the bar exam with flying colors and become admitted to practice in Vermont. Kira is also a Notary Public and a member of the Vermont Bar Association, Vermont Association for Justice, and New Hampshire Association for Justice. She currently serves on the Vermont Association for Justice Board of Governors and as a volunteer pro-bono attorney with the Vermont Asylum Assistance Project. She is an advocate for Law Office Study and has spoken on the Program in a panel hosted by the Vermont Bar Association. Prior to beginning Law Office Study, Kira received her undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. While at DePaul, she studied abroad with the College of Law at Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. Kira is deeply appreciative of her time in Chicago and Berlin, but she is grateful to have made the Upper Valley her home. In her spare time, Kira enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, and exploring all the natural beauty New England has to offer.
