Mr. Parravano is a California native and was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California.
Education:
B.A., Loyola University of Los Angeles 1970; M.A, Loyola University of Los Angeles 1973; Juris Doctor, Loyola University School of Law 1976.
Admitted to State Bar of California in 1976.
Experience:
Mr. Parravano has been a practicing attorney on the Monterey Peninsula since 1976. He has enjoyed a varied professional career practicing in several areas of law, including civil and business litigation, appellate practice before several State of California District Courts of Appeal and the California Supreme Court.
In the last fifteen years he has devoted his practice to estate planning, commercial leases and specializing in transactional law which includes business sales and transfers, partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies. He has developed a particular expertise in the field of business escrows having served as escrow holder for hundreds of business sales of large and small companies in the counties of Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Luis Obispo and several other California Central Valley counties as well.
Mr. Parravano served as an instructor at the Monterey College of Law for several years teaching in the fields of agency, partnership and corporate law. He taught as an adjunct professor of business law for accounting majors at Golden Gate University's Monterey campus for 25 years. Prior to being admitted to the Bar Mr. Parravano was a high school teacher in Santa Monica, California.
Community Service includes his active participation in the following organizations:
- Mr. Parravano was elected in 1979 and served as a member of the Carmel Unified School District Board of Education;
- A member of the Carmel Rotary Club which he joined in 1979, served a term as its Club secretary and a term as its president. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a past recipient of its prestigious J.O. Handley Award for community service;
- Founding board member, legal advisor and the corporate organizer for the Big Sur International Marathon for over 12 years;
- Served as a legal advisor, board member and a term as president for the Carmel Youth Center Board of Directors for over 12 years;
- Served as a past board Member of the Carmel Business Association (now known as the Carmel Chamber of Commerce) for 4 years.
