Michael Rogers primarily represents national and regional automotive dealership clients in a wide variety of legal matters including consumer actions and complex litigation, federal and state regulatory matters, unfair competition claims, commercial and consumer litigation, labor and employment issues and franchise disputes. He has significant experience in effectively resolving high-stakes litigation and providing counsel for litigation avoidance and regulatory compliance. In addition to automotive dealerships, his clients include automotive affiliated businesses such as finance companies, flooring lenders, automobile service centers, and surety bonding companies. In addition to his extensive understanding of the complexities of the automotive industry, Michael’s particular experience includes successfully representing individuals and business entities in complex, catastrophic personal injury matters including products and premises liability litigation; representing employers on a wide range of employment issues including discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and wage and hour violations; and representing clients involved in breach of contract, unfair business practices, trade secret violations, and UCC litigation. Known for his straightforward, sensible and strategic approach, Michael also works hand-in-hand with clients in business transactions including corporate, partnership and limited liability company formations as well as business stock and asset sales, real property acquisitions, and commercial leases. While in college, Michael spent his summers working for the U.S. Forest Service as a wildland firefighter, including as a Hotshot and Smokejumper, parachuting into remote wilderness fires. Now he fights battles in the legal arena instead of the forests. His clients and courtroom adversaries find that the “in the trenches” work ethic Michael acquired as a firefighter makes him an exceptional advocate. Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is active in the automotive industry and in San Diego’s legal community and is a member of the California Independent Auto Dealers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the National Association of Dealership Counsel, the National Independent Auto Dealers Association, the San Diego County Bar Association and the San Diego New Car Dealers Association.

Nichole Mendoza graduated from San Diego State University in 2008 with a double major in Political Science and History. In 2010, she graduated from California Western School of Law and was admitted to the California Bar in June of 2011. Ms. Mendoza brings 14 years of experience serving low-income people with disabilities to Auto Fraud Legal Center. Her past achievements include obtaining a reversal and remand from the Ninth Circuit without need for oral argument in a case disputing the Social Security Administration’s denial of her client’s public benefits; and, representing people with disabilities in class actions and other impact litigation to advance the rights of unhoused people and tenants with disabilities in San Diego and across California.

Associate attorney Michelle A. Cook received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton (B.A., cum laude, Business Administration, 2014), where she was recognized on the Dean’s List. She received her law degree from California Western School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2017), where she was recognized on the Dean’s List and as a Student of Distinction. During law school, she worked as a research assistant to Professors Leslie P. Culver and Arthur W. Campbell. Ms. Cook is a member of the California State Bar.

Attorney Christopher “Hawk” Barry joined the Auto Fraud Legal Center in 2002, and was made a partner in 2006. With over 20 years of consumer protection litigation experience, Mr. Barry has served as trial counsel in numerous auto fraud and lemon law cases resulting in precedent-setting punitive damage and civil penalty awards across California, including San Diego County, Orange County, Los Angeles County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Kern County, Sacramento County, and Imperial County.

Josh Green is a former federal prosecutor who joined the Auto Fraud Legal Center LLP in 2023. Josh served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California for more than seventeen years. Josh was the Chief of the Majors Frauds and Public Corruption Section at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and he has considerable experience prosecuting cases involving deceptive, fraudulent, and predatory practices. Josh is a seasoned trial attorney, and he was a long-time faculty member at the U.S. Department of Justice’s trial advocacy program for new federal prosecutors. Josh also has considerable appellate experience handling matters before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Josh graduated, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School in 2001. Josh received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Albion College in 1997. Josh believes in giving back and is very active volunteering in the community. Josh is a past President of the Poway National Little League and past Director of the Chaparral Elementary School Foundation. Josh is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Albion College. Josh has been an adjunct professor at the California Western School of Law for more than a decade. Mr. Green has been admitted to practice in California since 2007.

Ms. Guizar has worked with Auto Fraud Legal Center since 2016. First as part of the legal staff when she gained valuable experience working with partners and associates on all aspects of the case, from the inception to trial. During the time as a legal staff, Ms. Guizar attended trials, mediations, arbitrations and depositions. Now, as an attorney Ms. Guizar litigates her cases while also acting as a case manager, overseeing all cases, preparing discovery plans and helping the associates and partners get ready for trial. Ms. Guizar graduated as an attorney from the Universidad Automoma de Baja California in the top ten of her class. While studying law in Mexico, Ms. Guizar started working for a federal agency dedicated to consumer protection. In 2003 she became the supervisor of the complaints department. From 2005 to 2007 she worked for the City Council of Tijuana as the Coordinator of Social Programs for one of its districts. In 2007 Ms. Guizar joined the Municipal Legal Counsel for the city of Tijuana, Mexico, as a legal advisor for the director of Public Transportation. In 2008 Ms. Guizar co-founded the Law Firm of Marquez & Associates where she litigated civil, commercial and family law. Mr. Guizar was admitted to practice in California in September 2025.

Gregory T. Babbitt received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara (B.A., Political Science, 1993) and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law (J.D., 1997). While in law school, Mr. Babbitt clerked for California Court of Appeal, Associate Justice Richard D. Huffman. Mr. Babbitt has dedicated his career as a California lemon attorney to protecting consumers. Prior to joining the California auto fraud law firm of the Auto Fraud Legal Center, Mr. Babbitt was a Deputy Attorney General for the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection (1998-2001), where he investigated and litigated fraudulent and deceptive business practices in the areas of automobile sales and repairs, home improvement, predatory lending, and debt collection. This experience served as the catalyst to his current California lemon law and auto fraud practice. Mr. Babbitt currently handles California car lemon and auto fraud cases (individual and class actions), and new and used California Lemon Law cases. He has obtained significant recoveries for consumers in a variety of areas, including the sale of prior rentals, demonstrators, lemon law buy-backs, salvage, flood damaged, and prior wrecks without disclosure, and for packing – a practice that involves the sale of items such as alarms, window etching, paint and fabric protection, GAP insurance, or warranties without the purchaser’s request or knowledge. In January 2005, Mr. Babbitt was trial counsel with Douglas Law for the trial of Robertson v. Fleetwood Trailers of California (Tulare County). A cracked shower drain caused water to leak into the underbelly of the Robertson’s trailer and mold to grow there. After trial, the jury ordered Fleetwood to repurchase the Robertson’s trailer and pay a civil penalty for failing to repurchase the trailer prior to the lawsuit being filed. Haley Savage is a graduate of San Diego State University (B.S.) and University of San Diego School of Law (J.D.). She was admitted to the California Bar in November 2024. In her legal experience, she has shown a commitment to public service and justice. Upon graduation, she was honored with a High Honor Pro Bono Recognition award for over 250 hours in volunteer work. She joined the Auto Fraud Legal Center to continue to fight for people and protect consumers from unfair and deceptive business practices. Outside of work, Haley enjoys reading, traveling, and going to concerts.

Karla R. Gasca received her Bachelor of Law (2020) from CETYS University in Mexicali, Baja California. While in Law School, Ms. Gasca was part of the student body counsel and worked as a corporate legal clerk. After graduating, she worked as an attorney for a year until she relocated to San Diego, California to pursue a legal career in the US. Prior to joining Auto Fraud Legal Center, Ms. Gasca worked as a paralegal for civil collections firm for three years. In addition, Ms. Gasca joined Perez, Vaughn and Feasby as a Paralegal for a complex business litigation matter. Ms. Gasca received a passing score on the February 2024 Bar Exam and became fully licensed to practice law in California in September 2024. In her free time, she enjoys reading and traveling, and is fully bilingual, English and Spanish.
