Michael L. Avery, Sr., is married with two children and lives in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Avery graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1981 with degrees in History and Politics. Following his graduation from Ohio Wesleyan University, Mr. Avery joined the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer, where he served for eleven years, attaining the rank of Captain. While in the Marine Corps, Mr. Avery received an MBA degree from Averrett College in 1990. Following his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Mr. Avery attended the American University, Washington College of Law, graduating in 1994. Mr. Avery has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1994 and was admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia in 1995. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Avery has exclusively practiced plaintiffs, personal injury law. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Avery practiced law with a personal injury law firm until he opened his own office in 1998. Avery & Associates is a diverse and dynamic practice and is well qualified to handle personal injury cases and looks forward to the opportunity to represent those injured victims of another's negligence.
