Lawyer.com Member Questionnaire
Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Client had operated a successful business and owned a parcel of commercial real estate and her family home subject to mortgages. After the economy collapsed, like many others, her businss suffered. She was unable to meet all of the obligations. With a successful reorganization, she was able to sell of the commercial property and save her family home.
How did you build a successful practice?
Through building a relationship of trust and having client communicate their values and priorities, we have been able to advise clients of the options available to them and the possible outcomes. Once the client determines the course of action, then we are able to work with the other side and the court system within ethcial and legal procedures to obtain the best outcome that would meet the client's goals in the circumstances.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
One who can both listen and hear, one who can explain the options, one who can tell the truth to the client even if it is what they don't want to hear, but when it is necessary to have the client understand the risks and possible outcomes associated with their case.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Being familiar with local practice and respected by counsel and judges means an ability to be more efficient in working on a client's case. Knowing local market conditions of real estate can be helpful when addressing liklihood of possible solutions that may lead a client to choose one course of action over another.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
We can give you a preliminary assessment of what may be provided for in general. We won't know all the specifics of a client's case, but we can give a client an idea of whether it may be worth their effort to seek legal counsel.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
We need to know not only the general subject matter, but how the facts led up to the issue, what the potential client as well as the other side may have done that helped or hurt their situations. We also need to know what documents you have to support your side of the story.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
We have experience in foreclosure defense work, bankruptcy, real estate transactions and other areas of practice that allow us to take a larger view of your circumstances. We have worked on the bank's side of foreclosure and understand something about their strengths and weaknesses and what to look for and what to expect.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
To have a client appreciate that we are their voice and to get results that the client was seeking or expecting.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Enjoy living in Florida, appreciating the weather by participating in outdoor activities, horseback riding, boating, and the beach.
Are you involved in your community?
Have enjoyed volunteering at meal service events, including Meals on Wheels, and habitat housing projects. Aaron Saoud is the President of the University of Michigan Alumni Club for Tampa Bay.
