About Agostinho
Agostinho J. Ribeiro was born in New York City, to Portuguese immigrants, and moved to New Milford, Connecticut at the age of twelve. Attorney Ribeiro joined the law firm of Americo S. Ventura in 1989. Together they formed a partnership in 1991, which is now known as Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith. Attorney Ribeiro is currently the managing partner of Ventura, Ribeiro & Smith and concentrates in Personal Injury Law. He has successfully represented and settled over 5,000 civil cases, many with values in excess of $1,000,000.00.
In 1992, Attorney Ribeiro opened a branch office in the World Trade Center in New York City, where he concentrated on Federal Court litigation. After September 11, 2001, Attorney Ribeiro and the law firm represented, pro bono, victims of the World Trade Center disaster. The law firm was nationally honored for its volunteer efforts in this regard. The law firm also honors charitable organizations by hosting holiday events each year, which benefit different local charitable organizations each time. The law firm's employees also sponsor local needy families throughout the holidays.
Attorney Ribeiro was one of the founders of the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury, Connecticut, and he served as its first President. Today Attorney Ribeiro sits on the Board of Trustees of the Portuguese Cultural Center. He is on the Board of Corporators of the Union Savings Bank and serves the City of Danbury by sitting as a commissioner on the Downtown City Center Council. Attorney Ribeiro was also a founding member of the Portuguese Bar Association of CT.
