About Alan
An associate in the Subrogation Department, Alan Charkey represents insurers and insureds in third-party defense cases and coverage disputes which involve property insurance. Alan also supports the department by researching, briefing and handling matters of unusual complexity, including those involving the economic loss doctrine, choice-of-law disputes and appellate practice.
Alan has handled a wide variety of insurance-related litigation, including the defense of insureds in products, automobile and general liability cases. He has also represented insurers in coverage and bad faith litigation.
Prior to starting his law career in 1998, Alan worked as a claim adjuster and supervisor for three major insurers over the course of thirteen years.
Alan received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. and M.B.A. from Temple University. Alan also holds the Associate in Risk Management and Associate in Management certificates from the Insurance Institute of America.
