About Alfred

Alfred Norris was born in Pensacola, Florida to the Reverend Al Norris and Professor Emma Norris while Rev. Norris was a pastor at a local Methodist church. Soon after the Norris family relocated to Montgomery Alabama where Alfred attended private, public and parochial schools until graduating with honors from Montgomery Catholic High, growing up in Cloverdale.

Mr. Norris went on to study philosophy, language and economics at the University of Dallas, The University of Rome, Moscow State University, completing his degrees at Florida State University with a B.A. in International Affairs as well as Economics, minoring in Russian Studies.

From a young age, Alfred traveled throughout the world, living for extended period throughout various locations in Western Europe and the former Soviet Union. As part his colligate achievements, Alfred did internships for the National Journalism Center, the Heritage Institute, the Cato Institute and the World Bank, resulting in white papers on differing political and economic issues.

After graduating with honors from Florida State, Alfred returned to Montgomery and worked for McPhillips Shinbaum as a legal assistant, while also serving as the Executive Director of the Fitzgerald Museum. In 1997, he was accepted at Loyola Law School where he began his legal training. After taking a leave of absence due to his mothers untimely illness, he changed courses to become licensed as a stockbroker for Paine Webber in New Orleans .

In 2005, Alfred felt called to resume law school at Jones Law School of Montgomery, where he served as one of the leaders of the student-run ethics review Honor Court. During his last year he became a law clerk for McPhillips Shinbaum, under the primary direction of Mr. McPhillips.

Alfred was admitted to bar; September 25, 2009. He is affiliated with United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
