About Alfred

ALFRED L. ODOM was born in 1967 in Brooklyn, New York.  His family moved to Astoria, Queens where he grew up.  After graduating from Bernard Baruch College in 1988, he attended St. John's University School of Law.  Upon graduating law school in June of 1991, Mr. Odom worked as a Hearing Officer with the NYC Board of Education.  Shortly thereafter, he joined a New York City law firm specializing in Medical Malpractice law. 

Over the years, Mr. Odom has developed an extensive legal background and handles a variety of cases involving Estate Litigation, Real Estate, Estate/Tax Planning, and consulting on Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Negligence, and Personal Injury matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Odom worked as a trial attorney in a prominent Manhattan law firm, for several years. His clients have included the families of wrongful death victims, brain damaged infants, people injured due to negligent surgical treatment, personal injury accident victims, individuals injured due to negligent nursing home care, and individuals involved in estate litigation.

As a result of his caring attitude and diligent efforts in handling each case, and his commitment to excellence in the representation of each client, he has obtained significant settlements and verdicts. He has represented clients before various Courts in the State of New York, including, the Civil Court of the City of New York, the Surrogate's Court, the Supreme Court of the State of New York, the New York Court of Claims, and the federal U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Mr. Odom is also a former Adjunct Professor of several New York City colleges where he taught courses in civil litigation, legal research and writing, torts, trusts & estates, and other legal subjects. He recently served as an educator/mentor with the Eagle Academy for Young Men, Bronx, New York, which is a school focused on educating inner city young men.

Mr. Odom is an active member of his local church, New Beginning Church of God, East Elmhurst, New York where he serves as a trustee, deacon, and musician (alto saxophone player).

As a result of his rapport in the legal community, in 2007, Mr. Odom was invited to become a member of the Kings County American Inn of Court.
