About Alice

Alice K. Sum is a shareholder at the firm's Miami office, where she focuses her practice on commercial litigation.  Ms. Sum has extensive experience litigating cases involving breach of contract, business torts and fraud, franchises, securities, real estate and construction, and intellectual property issues.

Ms. Sum is a member of The Florida Bar. She also is a member of the Board of Directors and was the President of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of South Florida in 2006-2007.  Ms. Sum chaired the 2007 Southeast Regional Conference for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association during which she moderated a panel comprised of Fortune 100 and 500 in-house counsel.  Ms. Sum was named an Up and Comer by the South Florida Legal Guide for 2008.

While attending the University of Florida College of Law, Ms. Sum served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Law and Public Policy and competed as a member of the Justice Campbell Thornal Moot Court Team.  Ms. Sum won first place at the William & Mary Constitutional Law Moot Court Tournament and second place and best respondent brief at the John Marshall Law School Information Technology & Privacy Law International Moot Court Competition. In recognition of her leadership and success competing for the Moot Court Team, Ms. Sum was elected into the Order of the Barristers. Ms. Sum also served as a teaching assistant for the Legal Research & Writing and Appellate Advocacy courses.
