A corporation owned and operated by a few individuals, often members of the same family, rather than by public shareholders. Joint custody can be joint legal custody (in which both parents have a say in decisions affecting the child) joint physical custody (in which the child spends a significant amount of time with both parents) or, very rarely, both.
